In this 1973 sequel to Slaughter, former Green Beret Slaughter (Jim Brown) moves to Los Angeles hoping to start a new life after having taken out a mob syndicate in South America. He isn’t there long, however, before a hit man in a biplane tries to kill him at a swanky party. Realizing the syndicate is still alive under the leadership of criminal kingpin Duncan (Ed McMahon), Slaughter wants to skip town, but a well-meaning cop (Brock Peters) blackmails him into staying and fighting. James Brown provides the swaggering soundtrack to Gordon Douglas’ 1973 blaxploitation film, Slaughter’s Big Rip-Off in collaboration with longtime associate Fred Wesley. The Godfather of Soul’s second soundtrack release of 1973 following Black Caesar once again enlists protege Lyn Collins and even finds him sampling past classics like “Gimme Some More,” “Brother Rapp” and “Money Won’t Change You”) to thrilling effect.  Mastered from the original analog tape with tip on, fold-out jacket packaging.
