No conversation about 1980s Progressive Rock is complete without mentioning Art In America. Their self-titled debut album, originally released in 1983, was produced by progressive-rock legend Eddy Offord, known for his iconic work with Yes and Emerson, Lake & Palmer. The album’s title-track video received heavy rotation on MTV, while the band extensively toured in support of the release—headlining their own shows and opening for major acts such as U2, King Crimson, Bill Bruford, and Roxy Music.
The album’s classic cover art, created by the late artist Ioannis, is celebrated in Michael Ochs’ “1000 Record Covers” as one of the greatest album covers of all time.
To accompany the band’s new album Rise, the original Art In America album is being reissued on CD in 2025, fully remastered from the original master tapes by renowned mastering engineer Vic Anesini. This special edition also includes two previously unreleased live bonus tracks.
