Originally released in the summer of 1995, The Silent Enigma stands as a monumental release in Anathema’s career — and a cornerstone of gothic doom metal. It was the band’s second studio album and the first to feature guitarist Vincent Cavanagh on vocals, following the departure of Darren White.

Vincent’s emotive and melodic vocal delivery marked a dramatic evolution in Anathema’s sound.
