Release Date 21/01/2022

Boy Harsher’s now fifth release is no ordinary album – it’s the musical counterpart to a short film titled “The Runner,” which the duo wrote, produced and directed themselves and which will be released in January 2022 along with the album.

“The Runner” is a mini-horror film backed by a meta-style documentary about the album’s recording process. The soundtrack combines cinematic instrumentals with pop songs that push the boundaries of Boy Harshers sound. In conjunction with today’s announcement, they unveil the album’s first single, ‘Tower’ and announce new tour dates.

With the gritty pop that Boy Harsher is known for, the album also embraces the ethos of the soundtrack, featuring both eerie instrumentals and tracks with guest vocalists* that feel like they don’t come from the same band – ‘Machina’ is a Hi-NRG tribute sung by Mariana Saldaña of the band BOAN, in both Spanish and English. ‘Autonomy’ is a bright and heartfelt new wave anthem featuring Cooper B. Handy aka Lucy.
