The record mat is made of 3 mm thick cork. With a diameter of 295 mm, the record mat fits all record players. Due to the insulating property of cork, harmful resonances are avoided. In contrast to felt mats, cork additionally prevents electrostatic charging and thus avoids crackling and popping when playing the record.
