Limited Edition Yellow w/ Black Splatter Vinyl (2025 Repress)
Remastered + Bonus Tracks
Back in print for the first time since 2019, King of the Road—Fu Manchu’s 1999 stoner rock classic—is hitting the pavement once again, this time on limited edition yellow with black splatter vinyl. This 2025 repress is based on the 2015 remaster by Carl Saff and includes two bonus tracks:
- “Breathing Fire” (originally exclusive to the German vinyl release)
- “Hanglider” (previously unreleased)
Produced by Joe Barresi (Tool, QOTSA, Avenged Sevenfold), King of the Road captures Fu Manchu in peak form. It doesn’t just pick up where The Action Is Go left off—it slams right through it, delivering a relentless mix of fuzz-drenched riffs, thunderous rhythms, and desert-fried attitude. Scott Hill’s vocals have a sharper edge, Brant Bjork’s drumming is tighter and more punishing than ever (cowbells included), and Bob Balch’s guitar tone could peel paint off a muscle car.
A true road warrior’s soundtrack, the album is drenched in themes of driving, vans, and full-throttle freedom. The artwork reflects this obsession, featuring vintage ’70s van rally photos—including one unforgettable shot of a van interior decked out in full leather and blackout curtains. Tracks like “Hell on Wheels,” “Boogie Van,” and the pedal-to-the-metal title cut (“King of the Road says you move too slow!”) make it clear: this is a concept album of pure horsepower. And of course, they top it off with a raw, riff-heavy cover of Devo’s “Freedom of Choice.”
Don’t miss your chance to own this cult favorite the way it was meant to be heard—on wax.
