When rock singer Grace Slick left her job with the band The Great Society at the end of 1966, she didn’t stay alone for long. The band Jefferson Airplane, also based in San Francisco, became the new home of the charismatic singer, who gave the sound of the formation decisive new impulses with her voice. This can be admired on the second longplay “Surrealistic Pillow”, which with the cult hits “Somebody To Love” and “White Rabbit” set the new direction of the band’s sound and became the key album of the “Summer Of Love”.
