Jodo were a brief but blistering British hard-rock outfit from the early ’70s, linked to Deep Purple, Green Bullfrog, Jasper, and Killing Floor. With Rod Alexander’s standout guitar work and two lead vocalists—Bill Kimber (white) and Earl Jordan (black)—they fused heavy rock, blues, and proto-metal into a muscular, gritty sound.

Their only, self-titled LP arrived in 1971, produced in London by Derek Lawrence (Deep Purple, Wishbone Ash) and engineered by Martin Birch (Black Sabbath, Blue Öyster Cult). Oddly, it never came out in the UK—only in the US and New Zealand—and it sported enigmatic packaging: a cover depicting a man with a bicycle, with no band photos or identifying details.

For some strange reason, the album never saw a UK release, being available only in the US and New Zealand and housed in a cryptic packaging — the cover shows a man with a bicycle, without band photos or band details.
