Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Mark Knopfler’s One Take Radio Sessions is available on vinyl for the very first time on Record Store Day 2025

Originally released in 2005, this 8-track EP was recorded at Shangri-La Studios in Malibu, California

It features live in-studio recordings made in a single take, of seven songs from Knopfler’s 2004 album Shangri-La; including “The Trawlerman’s Song”, and “Boom, Like That”, as well as “Rüdiger” from his debut solo album, Golden Heart

Mark Knopfler, singer-songwriter, record producer and composer, is one of the most successful musicians the UK has ever produced and is often cited as one of the greatest guitarists of all time

He first came to prominence in the 80s as leader of Dire Straits, who created many of the signature songs of the era, before setting off on a new path as a solo artist

Over the years, Mark has written the music for several films, including Local Hero, The Princess Bride and Last Exit To Brooklyn, and has played and recorded with a number of artists, including Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Emmylou Harris, Tina Turner, Randy Newman and Chet Atkins
