“In The Skies” (1979) is the second solo album by British blues rock pioneer Peter Green, who was the founder of Fleetwood Mac and its member between 1967 and 1970
“In The Skies” was released almost ten years after his first solo album, “The End Of The Game” (1970). Musicians on this album were several experienced session musicians, including Snowy White, who worked with Pink Floyd before joining Thin Lizzy. White played large parts of the lead guitar on the album
Green’s friends and companions from previous bands, Peter Bardens and Robin Trower drummer Reg Isidore, also contributed takes. Five of the nine songs are instrumental, a longstanding tradition with Green. It’s an impressive return for the guitarist who rivaled Eric Clapton in his heyday.
