At the height of their career, the band released their fourth regular studio album in 1974, which was also produced by Chas Chandler. The album showcased both the well-known rock side of the band as well as their ‘quieter’ side. In addition to the single hits ‘My Friend Stan’ and ‘Everyday’, the album contains both smash hits such as ‘We’re Really Gonna Raise The Roof’ and more subdued numbers such as ‘Miles Out To Sea’.The original album was expanded for this reissue with five bonus tracks, including the chart hit ‘The Bangin’ Man’ and the accompanying B-side ‘She Did It To Me’.
“Old New Borrowed And Blue” is the sound of Slade at the height of their success, breaking new ground and combining their trademark stomping rockers with a softer songwriting sensibility.
