Yet Further, the debut album by American stoner/doom/sludge veterans SOLACE, first released in 2000, has stood the test of time. However, it also serves as a heartfelt and unplanned tribute: the reissue was already in the works when original SOLACE vocalist Jason L. sadly passed away in January 2025. His tortured brilliance and commanding presence defined the early years of the band, and this release stands as a testament to his legacy.

Formed in 1996 in Asbury Park, New Jersey, SOLACE are celebrated veterans of the American metal underground. Their sound – a unique mix of classic heavy metal, early doom, punk ethic, and hardcore fury – has been described as “dirt metal” or even “shorecore,” though many also file them under stoner metal. However you label it, the result is heavy, intense, and uncompromising.
