Ten Years After came out of the British blues circuit of the late-60s; a fertile breeding ground for emergent young groups. That blues boom at its height was instrumental in heralding the arrival of the guitar hero and the groups they led – Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Pete Townshend and of course Alvin Lee. The charismatic guitarist/singer headed a powerful team of talented musicians in Ten Years After that included Leo Lyons, Chick Churchill and Ric Lee.

Ten Years After’s explosive Live at the Fillmore East 1970 performance, captured by the great Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix) in between their triumphant Woodstock show and masterpiece Cricklewood Green, features vibrant covers of Sonny Boy Williamson’s “Help Me” and “Good Morning Little Schoolgirl,” Chuck Berry’s “Sweet Little Sixteen” and “Roll Over Beethoven” and Willie Dixon’s “Spoonful,” to go along with some stellar Lee originals.

Live at the Fillmore East 1970 is available on vinyl for the very first time as a 3LP-set – with a 2018 vinyl cut by Alchemy Mastering. It was transferred from the original 1969 ¼” production master using a Studer A80 Tape Machine and cut on a Neumann VMS 80 with a sx74 Cutter Head, cutting amps, SAL 748 (modified). Featuring sleeve notes by drummer Ric Lee.
