Celebrating its 22nd anniversary this year, The Haunted’s second album (and first with vocalist Marco Aro) found them tightening up their thrash inspired death metal sound, delivering both much faster, more frantic riffing and juicier, heavier grooves. Whilst there’ll always be a hint of At The Gates in the Björler brothers’ approach, this album marks the point where The Haunted’s distinctive sound came into much sharper focus.
