In 2018, one of metal’s most defining and revolutionary vocalists, Warrel Dane, celebrated his highly anticipated inaugural solo effort, Praises to the War Machine. With this album, he further honed his craft to perfection. Having first shattered the boundaries of conventionality with the legendary Sanctuary and Nevermore, Dane proved himself to be one of metal’s most diverse frontmen. This solo effort showcases a barrage of introspective and deeply personal lyrics, delivered with heartfelt intensity and raw power.

His soaring, dynamic vocals—both angelic and ferocious—are backed by a savagely captivating, melodic assault that instantly hooks the listener. To bring this vision to life, Dane surrounded himself with some of the best musicians he could find. This search led him to Peter Wichers (ex-Soilwork) on guitars and bass, Dirk Verbeuren (Soilwork) on drums, and Matt Wicklund (ex-Himsa) on guitars. The album was recorded and mixed by Wichers (co-producer of Soilwork) and features guest appearances from Jeff Loomis (Nevermore) and James Murphy (Obituary, Testament, etc.).

This 2021 extended reissue includes four additional live tracks from the album on Side C, featuring singer-songwriter Jonny Smokes. These live recordings are also available on all digital platforms.
