“After the War” is the seventh solo studio album by Northern Irish guitarist Gary Moore, originally released by Virgin Records in 1989.

It contains elements of Celtic music. The instrumental track “Dunluce” is named after Dunluce Castle in Northern Ireland. On “Led Clones”, Ozzy Osbourne, with whom Moore had worked before the singer teamed up with Randy Rhoads, sings lead vocals. The song pokes fun at bands like Kingdom Come, who were popular at the time, and is based on a Led Zeppelin-like sound and image.

“The song was great fun,” Ozzy recalls, “and it was an honor to record with Gary.” Sisters of Mercy frontman Andrew Eldritch sings background vocals on “After the War”, “Speak for Yourself” and “Blood of Emeralds”. With the song “Blood of Emeralds”, Moore once again pays tribute to the memory of his long-time friend and colleague Phil Lynott.
