2001’s Proxima Estacion: Esperanza (“Next Stop: Hope”) – named after Madrid Metro’s Line 4 – is the former Mano Negra frontman’s second full-length solo release and follow-up to his breakout debut 1998’s Clandestino. Once again incorporating multiple languages including English, French, Portuguese, Spanish and Arabic, and themes of travel, party, and dance, the Caribbean flavored 17-song set is highlighted by such festive fare as “Merry Blues,” “La Primavera,” and “Me Gustas Tú.”
