Emerging from the wave of the British blues revival that helped shape hard rock in the late ’60s and early ’70s, Bedlam delivered one of the most powerful and underrated albums of the era.
The short-lived four-piece band released their only studio album in 1973, driven by the explosive drumming of the legendary Cozy Powell (Black Sabbath, Whitesnake, Rainbow, Jeff Beck). The lineup was completed by vocalist Frank Aiello (formerly of pop duo The Truth) and brothers Dave Ball (guitar – who had recently replaced Robin Trower in Procol Harum) and Denny Ball (bass).
Produced by Felix Pappalardi of Mountain, the album blends heavy blues rock with early proto-metal intensity, showcasing powerful riffs, soulful vocals and dynamic musicianship.
A hidden gem of early ’70s British hard rock and proto-heavy metal.
